Repair Your Power Scooter – Don’t Kick It To The Curb

Your power scooter may have seen better days. It’s been keeping you mobile for years but it doesn’t have the kick that it used to. New power scooters can be expensive and are often the only recommendation that a mobility store will provide due to lack of experience, technique and/or ability to order the parts necessary to repair your scooter.

At Leading Edge Mobility, we want to make sure you’re happy with your product for many years to come, not just until you need to buy a new one. We aim to repair your scooter first, before recommending the alternative option of replacement.

Most mobility shops do not have the technical ability to replace what could be a simple fix or replacement in your power scooter.

Didn’t buy your scooter from Leading Edge Mobility? No problem! Bring in your scooter and we’ll order in the necessary parts for your chair. Our technicians have the knowledge and experience to be able to assess and repair scooters regardless of what retail business they may have come from.

Repairs

Mobility scooters are often susceptible to “wear and tear” of environmental factors including humidity, internal corrosion damage, and moisture. Normal “wear and tear” can affect pretty much anything on a power scooter when it is utilized long enough.

Repairs do not have to be a headache. We believe in repairs on your investment in a professional and timely matter. We’ll start with a diagnosis to get to the route of the issue. If it’s repairable, our team of technicians will work to repair your scooter and bring it back to its young, well – oiled self.

Here are the six most common repair items on a mobility scooter:

  1. Batteries (most batteries won’t hold their charge after various re-charges)
  2. Tires (wear and tear will cause a reduction in traction)
  3. Armrests (comfort reduction)
  4. Motor (over time, this may need adjustments and parts repairs)
  5. Joysticks/controllers (wear and tear can cause concerns when trying to direct your power scooter)
  6. Lights (cracks, damages in the light systems can be dangerous when riding in the evening)

These are all completely repairable!

We Come To You!

Our In-Home services also extend for repairs as well. We’ll come to your home to pick up your scooter and complete the repairs in our store. Once it’s ready, we’ll bring it back to you, with the transportation being free of charge.

If you use your power scooter every day, you put a lot of miles on it, repairs will eventually be needed. Whether it’s a simple repair or something more complicated, Leading Edge Mobility can help! We want to make sure you’re comfortable and mobile. We are committed to providing you with the best service that fits you and your needs. Contact us today if you’re in need of a scooter tune-up or would like to learn more about our services.
